There are many "flavors" of 78 rpm records.  For the purpose of our service we will differentiate between Commercial Releases, what we call " Home Made Records" and Edisons (and other vintage formats).
   
  A Commercial Release 78 rpm is your "average" 78 rpm record (from the 30's-50's), that was purchased already recorded.  The record was pressed in thousands of copies and it usually has a colorful label, printed with the name of the artist and song/album.  Many of these records come in "albums" (thus the name we still use today: "album").  This type of record is made of shellac (a material that is heavy and easily breakable).  
   
  Please also read the information for Home Made Records and Edisons, just to be sure you record is indeed a Commercially produced 78rpm and not a Home Made Record.  If you submit by mistake a Home Made Record, Edison or "vintage" record for transfer as a Commercial 78rpm, we will be unable to process the order.
   
  We ask our customers to use common sense in what to expect for final quality from old 78rpm records: if a record is in horrible condition, the CD will NOT sound perfect.  It will sound better than the original record, but better than "horrible" is "very bad"!  It is better to have modest expectation that will be exceeded, than to have unrealistic expectations and be disappointed.  Restoring a bunch of 50-60-70 year records that sat in the attic for the last 40 years is a gamble: the end result may be great, horrible, or somewhere in the middle.  We, as professionals, will tilt the odds in favor of "quality".  However, we do not participate in the gamble.
   
  NOTE:  There are unusual and "Vintage" record formats that look like "average" 78rpm commercial recordings. These unusual and "vintage" formats take more care (and time) in processing.  We reserve the right to re-classify these records upon receipt and inspection to either "Edisons" pricing or "Home-Made-Records" pricing.  

  Only 78 rpm Commercial Records qualify for this pricing.  NOTE: Edison diamond discs and Edison "recreations" (acoustic) are excluded from this pricing.  Please see Edison Acoustics for pricing.

  The pricing is PER RECORD (NOT per side).   The pricing is the same if we transfer both sides of the record, or only one side.  
  Simply count the number of 78rpm commercial RECORDS you want transferred and select the corresponding price.
