These recordings are rare.  They are thicker and heavier than most records.  They are clearly marked with the Edison trademarks.
   
  This type of records requires expensive, specialized equipment for playback and recording.  They are more difficult to work with than regular (electric) 78rpm records.  Acoustic Edisons and Edison Diamond Discs in mint, excellent or good condition are capable of reproducing sound with surprisingly good quality. 
   
  If the record is not clearly marked with the Edison trademark (Edison "Recreation" or Edison Diamond Disc) you are probably on the wrong page and should select another category from our price lists.
   
  We ask our customers to use common sense in what to expect for final quality from old acoustic records: if a record is in horrible condition, the CD will NOT sound perfect.  It will sound better than the original record, but better than "horrible" is "very bad"!  It is better to have modest expectation that will be exceeded, than to have unrealistic expectations and be disappointed.  Restoring a bunch of 80-90-100 year records that sat in the attic for the last 70 years is a gamble: the end result may be great, horrible, or somewhere in the middle.  We, as professionals, will tilt the odds in favor of "quality".  However, we do not participate in the gamble.
   
  NOTE:  There are unusual and "Vintage" record formats that look like "average" 78rpm commercial recordings. These unusual and "vintage" formats take more care (and time) in processing.  We reserve the right to re-classify these records upon receipt and inspection to either "Edisons" pricing or "Home-Made-Records" pricing.  

  Only Edison Diamond Discs and Edison acoustic discs qualify for this pricing.
