Christmas came a little late this year but sure was worth it. I had thought that I had lost this concert disc forever as my laser disc player gave up the ghost and I did not want to repair it. It's a miracle.  When I took a look at my very moldy old 45 rpm record that my college singing group recorded almost a half-century ago, I thought I'd never be able to hear our golden voices again (including the fact that I no longer have a record player). But I sent you the record figuring that the worst you would do is send it back to me with a smile on your face. But you guys and gals performed a miracle. I recently had dealings with a company that worked out so well I felt compelled to tell my friends about it. No, I am not a shill - they just did what they said, when they said, and I am very pleased with the final product. Like many, I have a closet full of old LPs, many of which have been replaced by cds. I like a lot of older jazz albums from the 50s and 60s, most of which seemed not to have made it into the digital age. We no longer have room to keep my turntable operating - and I'm not even sure it works any longer, so alas I felt as if I would never hear these albums again. I looked on iTunes, and was one of those people sneaking around on file sharing software trying to find these albums. I even got on sites of people who collect these types of albums and THEY didn't have them either. A friend sent me a link to a sound engineering company that takes LPs and records and digitizes them. They run them through computers, filters, etc... to clean them up. I received my new cds today and am very pleased. According to their site, they also convert all sorts of other types of media as well. It isn't cheap, about $30 each, but for the three albums I thought I would never hear again, it was money well spent. Their site is kind of awkward, but their customer service and follow up have been exemplary. I just listened to one of the albums and while you could hear the occasional popping, it is very good.
