Q:  Can I get my transfer as MP3's, so I can easily load up into my MP3 player?

A:

- Yes.  Order the regular transfer PLUS an MP3 CD Copy (you will find it on the Order Form).

Q: How highly compressed will the MP3 files be?

A:

- We offer a choice of three compression levels (choose on the Order Form):
A. High Quality (lower compression ratio - approx. 9:1 compression)
B. Medium Quality (approx. 14:1 compression)
C. Higher Compression (lower quality - approx. 18:1 compression)
Compression is performed with the latest algorithms that provide outstanding quality (even in the higher compression modes)

Q: Can I just order MP3's and not a regular CD?

A:

- We are a professional studio and as such we perform all work on UNCOMPRESSED audio files of the highest quality.  The output of our high quality audio work is an Audio CD.  This CD preserves the full quality of your audio recording.  The MP3 conversion is offered as a convenience, in addition to your full quality Audio CD.  The MP3 format is convenient because of the smaller file sizes.  While small file sizes are nice, some of the information contained in the original recording is discarded and forever lost.  That's why you also receive the Audio CD's, that preserve the full quality of the original recording.

Q: I don't understand the "MP3 CD Copy 2 Compression Versions or 2 Projects" item on your Order Form.  Can you explain?

A:

- Compression Versions: you are not sure of the sound quality (or file size) of the compressed versions.  You are not sure which to order?  High Quality?  Higher Compression? With "2 Compression Versions" on one CD, you can order both (the "High Quality" version for your PC and the "Higher Compression" version for your MP3 player.  Or you can order all 3 versions.  Select the appropriate item on the Order Form, and indicate in the "Special Instructions" box what versions you prefer.
- 2 Projects from today's order: today you are ordering 2 transfers.  When you select this item on the Order Form, you can have both transfers converted to MP3 on the same CD (or up to 3 transfers).  If you are ordering more transfers than 2 (or 3) be sure to tell us in the "Special Instructions" box which transfers you would like in MP3 form.

Q: Can you put 6 or 10 or 20 transfers on one MP3 CD?

A:

- Yes.  We are set up to put up to 25 projects (or versions) on one MP3 CD (or DVD, if it doesn't fit a CD).  For more than 25 projects, combine MP3 CD's to match your total number of transfers (or compression versions).  See the complete MP3 Copy price list.

Q: I have a whole bunch of CD's I would like converted to MP3.  Will you do that for me?

A:

- At this time we do not offer a stand-alone "conversion to MP3 service".  We only convert to MP3 CD's our transfer/restoration projects.

PLEASE READ
Important Scheduling Notice

At this time we are booked with work commitments until October 2008.  New orders placed on this Web site will be processed in the order received, beginning early October 2008.   Our Receiving Department will accept and date-stamp packages received, for processing in order in which they were received.  The packages WILL NOT be entered into our Order Tracking System until early October 2008 (please do not panic if you do not see your order in the Order Tracking System).   Email inquiries received after July 7 will be answered October 2008.  Phone support will resume at the same time.
Should we develop any available processing capacity before October 2008, we will update this message.  Please stay tuned.
Please feel free to submit orders at this time, for processing in October 2008.  Please DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER if it must be processed before October 2008.  We anticipate a heavy workload in October and November 2008.  If you have projects for Holiday Season 2008, may we suggest that you send in your order as early as possible.  Orders will be processed in the order received.  Wise customers order early

If you wonder "is it worth submitting an order now and waiting for processing in October", we think YES.  We have hundreds of loyal customers who would not think of sending their work to anyone else but to us and they think that the wait is worthwhile.  Submitting your order now, early "in line", will ensure much quicker processing in October. The closer you place the order to October, the longer the wait for order completion in October/November.
We thank you, our loyal customers and new clients, for your tremendous support!
All the best,
Cristian Coban, Ph.D.
