Q:  Why would anyone want to order additional Restoration Versions of the same recording?

A:

- You have received our CD.  Your order was for "Transfer Only" but the original recording is noisy and now you are sorry you did not order "Transfer with Sound Restoration".  Order a Restoration Version.  It will cost less than resubmitting the original recording as a new Transfer with Sound Restoration order (you will not have to reship the original recording to us and the return shipping on your Restoration Version is free).

Q: You've done this job for me about one year ago.  Can I order an Additional Restoration Version now?

A:

- We keep all the production files on our computers for 60 days after ship date.  On day 61 the files are deleted.  Jobs that are 61 days or older from ship date must be re-submitted as a new project.

Q: I think you should do the Additional Restoration Versions for free. Why aren't they free?

A:

- With the availability of Additional Restoration Versions, you become more like the Producer of your own recording (we are the Studio, Engineer and Technicians).  Studio and personnel time are expensive.  In an ideal world, a Producer would have the run of the studio for an unlimited amount of time, until that very last note is perfect.  In the real world, the clock keeps ticking and when the paid for studio time is up, the next job rolls in.  For more "perfection", the producer must book another session.   We operate on the same principle.

Q: Will you guarantee that I will like the Additional Restoration Version I will be ordering?

A:

- No, no guarantees are offered.  The new version will be DIFFERENT than the previous version, as close as we can execute your instructions.  In fact, your instructions may cause distortions and artifacts in the new version.  There is always a good reason why we don't push the noise reduction parameters to the maximum.   The Restoration Versions are offered as an accommodation, not as a source of arguments, disputes and requests for free rework.  Versions produced are final, and not subject to disputes, arguments and requests for free rework.  Ordering Restoration Versions assumes full understanding of, acceptance and compliance with our terms and conditions.

Q: I have received my new Version, but I can't hear any difference compared with the old version?  Is this a rip-off, or what?

A:

- No, it is not a rip-off.  The difference between versions may subtle.  People who are not audio professionals (or who do not have sensitive ears or sensitive playback equipment) may not hear much of a change (although the change is there, is evident for trained ears and is effective).  As audio professionals, we are trained to hear things that most other people can not hear (but which ultimately make the difference between GOOD audio and BAD audio).  Once again, the Restoration Versions are offered as an accommodation, not as a source of arguments, disputes and requests for free rework.  Only persons who understand and agree with our terms and conditions should order.

PLEASE READ
Important Scheduling Notice

At this time we are booked with work commitments until October 2008.  New orders placed on this Web site will be processed in the order received, beginning early October 2008.   Our Receiving Department will accept and date-stamp packages received, for processing in order in which they were received.  The packages WILL NOT be entered into our Order Tracking System until early October 2008 (please do not panic if you do not see your order in the Order Tracking System).   Email inquiries received after July 7 will be answered October 2008.  Phone support will resume at the same time.
Should we develop any available processing capacity before October 2008, we will update this message.  Please stay tuned.
Please feel free to submit orders at this time, for processing in October 2008.  Please DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER if it must be processed before October 2008.  We anticipate a heavy workload in October and November 2008.  If you have projects for Holiday Season 2008, may we suggest that you send in your order as early as possible.  Orders will be processed in the order received.  Wise customers order early

If you wonder "is it worth submitting an order now and waiting for processing in October", we think YES.  We have hundreds of loyal customers who would not think of sending their work to anyone else but to us and they think that the wait is worthwhile.  Submitting your order now, early "in line", will ensure much quicker processing in October. The closer you place the order to October, the longer the wait for order completion in October/November.
We thank you, our loyal customers and new clients, for your tremendous support!
All the best,
Cristian Coban, Ph.D.
